Guts For Garters opens
Time Out has had a sneak preview of the inventive new shop/gallery space, Guts for Garters, which opens in Camden today. Friends, collaborators and former history of art students, Rachel Chudley and Cassie Beadle, have been working on the concept for the past two years. Each item in this opulent space – which is done up like Queen Elizabeth I’s imaginary dressing room – fits with the first theme, the ‘Royal We’. A series of themed exhibitions will take place over the year, with stock changing accordingly. For now, anti-royal objects on offer include Carrie Reichardt’s cheeky royal plates, corsets by Grace de Prez and vintage Vivienne Westwood clothing. ‘We want it to be totally the opposite to the experience of online shopping,’ explains Chudley. We assure you it is.
