Taiwanese restaurants are rare in the capital – apart from the ubiquitous chain of Leong’s Legends and some esoteric eateries, if you’re looking for an authentic taste of sanbeiji (three cup chicken) or beef noodle soup you’re usually left wanting. Luckily there are plenty of students hailing from the island in the capital, and every so often they’ll cobble their collective kitchens together to cook up a storm, the results being sold at events like the Taiwanese Culture & Food Fair taking place in Westminster Academy today. Rock up for a brunch of oyster omelettes, ground pork rice and bubble tea.

Taiwanese Culture & Food Fair is on today (11am-3pm) at Westminster Academy, 255 Harrow Rd, W2 5EZ (Royal Oak or Warwick Avenue tube).
