East End Film Festival

If you’re not spending the royal wedding weekend throwing street parties, waving miniature flags or drinking to excess, you can’t go wrong with the East End Film Festival. There’s a strong lineup of new British film – like opener ‘The Libertines: There Are No Innocent Bystanders’ (above) – alongside the best in European and other world cinema and a host of talks, workshops, music events. But the most intriguing event might be the UK’s second-ever screening of the uncut version of enfant terrible and Big Brother escapee Ken Russell’s ‘The Devils’ (below), complete with all the writhing, orgiastic nuns you could ever wish for…
