The Gordon Ramsay diaspora – the chefs who once worked for him then struck out on their own – gathers pace today with the opening of Pollen Street Social in Mayfair. The restaurant is headed up by chef Jason Atherton, reckoned by many to be the most talented of Ramsay’s former protegés. Atherton, the chef who was behind Maze, creates a menu of small tasting plates and tapas and a quirky dessert bar – handy if you want to try several dishes. Prices, however, aren’t quite so bite-sized (this is Mayfair, after all).
