Last year the UK held its first British Street Food awards. Now, the Real Food Festival team (responsible for many a market on the south bank) celebrate the best pavement food purveyors with a dedicated street food festival this weekend (Fri-Sun) which is free and open to all. Familiar faces such as the Choc Star van and The Meatwagon (returning to the streets after uprooting from their Meateasy residency at Goldsmiths Tavern in New Cross) are on the roster, as well as Jun Tanaka and Mark Jenkel’s gourmet food van, The Street Kitchen. Ghanaian favourites Jollof Pot, Mexican maestros Luardo’s and Gujarati Rasoi join the fray.
