© Owen LlewllynSouth London’s only windmill reopened to the public yesterday after undergoing a £600,000 restoration. It is open to visitors and will soon produce flour once more: built in 1816, the mill worked until 1934 and now 10 varieties of wheat and 34 of barley have been planted at the site. The celebration kicked off with a procession from Windrush Square up Brixton Hill and was officially opened by Mayor of Lambeth Chuka Umunna MP and others.
