Boulangerie Bon Matin opens
The signs of gentrification are clear: Stroud Green now has a proper French bakery and café. Boulangerie Bon Matin (‘the good morning bakery’) is a new outpost from the Muswell Hill and Crouch End Sable d’Or, now dipping its croissant in the trickier café crème landscape further south. Its pretty cake-filled window attracts locals who long for a bohemian café on their side of Crouch Hill. Now they can have their French cake and eat it: from frangipane apple tarts to savoury quiches and crêpes, the boulangerie caters to the café lover’s every need. And, as the name suggests, Boulangerie Bon Matin also does breakfast; we recommend the very patriotic French toast.
