Project Ocean launches at Selfridges
Selfridges’ Project Ocean – a month-long awareness-raising festival for the plight of the world’s debilitated oceans – is in full flow. Along with taking almost 80 non-sustainable fish products off shelves, the store has been transformed into an underwater wonderland with a bucking rodeo whale, tanks of living coral confiscated from ports, and a display of ocean-themed fashion pieces like Gaga’s Treacy-designed lobster hat. Best of all are NYC-based artist Jason Hackenwerth’s wibbly sea urchin balloon sculptures in the atrium (below). Browsing is free and highly recommended.
