This Thursday, the BFI kicks off a 2 month retrospective of Hollywood icon, acting powerhouse and all-round nice guy, Jeff Bridges. Tracking Bridges’s acting CV from his career-making debut in ‘The Last Picture Show’ to his long-deserved Oscar win for ‘Crazy Heart’, the season features some of the finest American films of the last 4 decades including ‘Fat City’, ‘Heaven’s Gate’, ‘The Fabulous Baker Boys’, ‘The Fisher King’ and a full reissue for little-seen California crime masterpiece, ‘Cutter’s Way’. Anyone with a passing interest in the man and his movies should get along to a screening of terrific western ‘Bad Company’ (above) tomorrow evening at 6.10pm, where BFI Head of Programming Geoff Andrew delivers an extended intro to the season.
