Roman Gladiator Games at Musuem of London
In advance of the 2012 Olympics, Museum of London recreates a traditional Roman Gladiator Games on July 30-31. Taking place in its full-scale gladiator arena – the site of Londinium’s only Roman amphitheatre – the shows feature skilled performers from team Britannia, a famous group of Essex-based re-enacters of Roman times. Traditional street scenes will be recreated outside the venue where be-costumed soldiers, slaves and doctors mingle with the crowd; family workshops entertain those who want to make their own mosaics, study Roman artefacts and more. Book now: this one looks set to be colossal.
