‘Watch Me Move: The Animation Show’ at Barbican Art Gallery
An awesome compilation of animated films, shorts and good, old fashioned cartoons opens today at Barbican Art Gallery. ‘Watch Me Move: The Animation Show’ takes in 150 years of innovation, from the first attempts to harness the moving image through frame-by-frame and stop-motion techniques to the CGI-laden blockbusters and animated features of Disney and Pixar. A special in-house cinema hosts daily showings of classics such as ‘Jungle Book’, ‘Tron’ and ‘Toy Story 3′ while the Barbican runs big screen seasons on Jan Svankmajer and Studio Ghibli.
