The Poetry Takeaway mobile poetry emporium arrives in London

Posted at 10:00 am, June 16, 2011 in Arts & Entertainment

This weekend, The Poetry Takeaway makes it first outing in the capital before travelling around the country to various summer festivals. Funded by generous backers including Ideastap, the world’s first purpose-built mobile poetry emporium offers customers bespoke poems on any subject in 10 minutes or less – for free. Headed up by ‘poetry chefs’ (Tim Clare, John Osborne, Luke Wright, Molly Naylor, Hannah Walker ) the mobile verse outlet promises a 1-on-1 performance and a handwritten serving in special branded packaging to take home. This Saturday (noon-7pm) it parks in Stoke Newington, then July 2-3 (11am-5pm daily) it hits the London Literature Festival at Southbank. Catch this van while you can.
