Novelist Sarah Waters discusses BBC2’s TV adaptation of her book ‘The Night Watch’ with Time Out

‘Tipping the Velvet’ tickled the tabloids, ‘Fingersmith’ engaged the intellect and ‘Affinity’ shivered the spine. Now, TV’s favourite novelist and London scribe Sarah Waters discusses the latest adaptation of her work, BBC2’s atmospheric and powerful version of ‘The Night Watch’, in this week’s Time Out (out today). Waters reveals why she never believed her bleak tale of wartime London would appeal to TV, why she enjoys watching the adaptations but refuses to read her books, and which classic of London literature she’d fancy adapting herself.

‘The Night Watch’ airs at 9pm on July 12 on BBC2.
