Scala Forever film season brings cinema back for the futureThis August sees the start of the ‘Scala Forever’ film season in theatres and cinemas across London, in honour of the Scala Cinema in King’s Cross, one of the capital’s best-loved exhibitors. Promising to take guests on a journey through cult film history – with genres as broad as horror and comedy and as specific as grindhouse and giallo – ‘Scala Forever’s’ aim is to reclaim film back from the multiplexes (if only for a short while) and salute London’s cinematic past before looking forward to the future. The ‘Zombie All-nighter’ (Aug 20) alone – featuring 5 flesh-eating films from yesteryear including George A. Romero’s original ‘Dawn of the Dead’ – should be enough to turn any true cinephile’s head.
