Make tea not war: ‘Operation Cup of Tea’ brews up a storm
Last night to counteract the violent UK riots, people made a very British peaceful protest – by brewing a nice cuppa. #OperationCupofTea was trending worldwide on twitter last night and at 8.30pm thousands of people uploaded photos to Facebook of themselves (and their pets/kids/toys) drinking a nice soothing warm beverage as part of ‘Operation Cup of Tea‘. The organiser behind the tea flashmob tells us that the photos will be used to help raise money for the clean-up effort.
