Olympic Games Spectator Journey Planner launches

London 2012 Olympic Games Spectator Journey PlannerAlready contemplating your trip to London 2012? Well, rest easy, as the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) launched its Spectator Journey Planner today. The planner allows you to plot your journey from a transport location or postcode to any London 2012 venue using your preferred method of transport (including cycling). On first glance, it’s definitely worth getting your head around the FAQs before attempting to use the planner. Journey times can seem unusually long but that’s because additional time for security checks and unforeseen delays is factored in. You can also book travel tickets through the system but remember, if you have a London 2012 ticket, you will receive a Games Travelcard for free travel on London Public Transport between zones 1-9 on the day of the event. Nice to note that the planner seems to encourage spectators to walk where possible, although there currently aren’t any links to maps to help navigation. Work in progress, perhaps.
