Turkish community protect Dalston in London riotsOn Monday evening as riots swept through London, Dalston’s Turkish and Kurdish community came out in force to protect their business, homes and streets. To say thank you for protecting the area, tomorrow’s ‘Thank Turk It’s Saturday’ is an all day celebration of Hackney’s Turkish and Kurdish residents. Head to Dalston to show your support for the local businesses: eat in one of the many great Turkish restaurants, shop in the local grocery stores, get a trim in a barbers, grab a takeaway or have drinks in a Turkish bar. Wherever you live in London, this is a great opportunity to give some love to a brave affected community and to get a tasty kebab while you are it.
