Gelupo ice cream cart settles in Soho

Posted at 1:00 pm, August 27, 2011 in Food & Drink

Gelupo ice cream cartSoho’s Berwick Street has a new street trader – Gelupo, a freestanding foodmobile courtesy of our favourite ice cream parlour from the team at Bocca di Lupo. Squished between fruit and veg stalls, Gelupo’s nostalgic ice cream cart has been dishing out frozen Italian ices to Soho’s flâneurs for the last month. The ice creams and sorbets are hidden away inside the cart’s metal containers; place your order and hidden delights such as burgundy-red fragolina (strawberry) and grape sorbet emerge from the round holes. If the market traders weren’t shouting in cockney, you could mistake this for being in Italy. Open from Monday to Saturday (noon-5.30pm daily) until winter, this is one cool set of wheels.

Gelupo cart is outside Yauatcha, Berwick Street Market, W1F 0PT. Hungry for more? See our round up of London’s Best Ice Cream spots.
