The Blues Kitchen celebrates 60 years of Chess Records with 1950s menu, quiz and live music

 Chess Records LPOn September 20 (from 7.30pm), The Blues Kitchen celebrates Chess Records – the 1950’s American record label that created musical legends like Muddy Waters and Eddie Bo – with an evening of free music, a Big Fat Music Quiz and tribute performances from The Blues Kitchen House Band. Food is themed, with original 1950s style cocktails (Hemingway Daiquiri, Trader Vic Mai Tai) and dinner (chicken pot pie with buttered corn, butterscotch brownies, ice cream sundaes). Guests who bring an original Chess Record LP receive a free cocktail. In advance of the event, The Blues Kitchen invites Chess fans to send a 2 minute video of a self-made performance of a Chess Record track via Twitter @TheBluesKitchen before August 31: the best win £50 vouchers to spend on the evening.
