At home with Pistol Panties founder Deborah Fleming
Deborah Fleming (above) lives in a bright and breezy garden flat in Portobello. Married with children, the founder and designer of Pistol Panties has swapped valuable treasures for indestructible Ikea wares over the years, but several precious trinkets remain. “I have many family things, like this Ducal family teapot (below), that I saved when my grandmother’s townhouse in Witham was sold.” Fabrics and prints are also a key feature; “I am obsessed with finding prints and vintage fabrics. I always find amazing material in the Porte de Clignancourt in Paris”. An old Singer sewing machine has become a table for the children: “I sewed with it for years, it’s such a beautiful thing” says Fleming.
