London blogger shares the love with ‘Acts of Random Kindness’ project
When life gives you lemons, why not give those lemons to someone else? That’s what Bernadette Russell started doing since reading Time Out’s #ilovelondon coverage. Inspired by stories of community spirit and local pride, Russell impulsively decided to play her own small part, and helped pay for a boy’s stamp at the post office when he didn’t have enough money. Enthralled by the feeling it gave her, she’s now committed to a random act of kindness every day for an entire year, whether it be donating £5, placing a note saying ‘enjoy’ in a book in Waterstone’s, or buying a potted plant for the person behind the till at Tesco’s. At the end of the year, she plans to put on a show about the experience.
