Knitters wanted to create giant woolly art installation at Tate Britain
London knitters and crafters rejoice: this Friday, Stitch London welcomes needlers of all abilities to Tate Britain (6-10pm) for an evening of woollen art-making. Accompanying the ‘Restless Times: Art In Britain 1914-45’ exhibition, guests are invited to explore the gallery and evoke the spirit of ‘make do and mend’ by knitting a square for a massive street-art inspired installation. Graffiti knitters Knit the City create additional woolly mischief around the gallery. BYO needles and yarn.
