Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s ‘TeZukA’ brings manga mania to Sadler’s Wells
Manga fanatic and red-hot choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s (below) latest work ‘TeZukA’ opens at Sadler’s Wells this Tuesday (to September 10), taking inspiration from Japan’s answer to Walt Disney, Osamu Tezuka (creator of Astro Boy, among others). Incorporating an on-stage calligrapher, animations, live music by Nitin Sawhney and a cast of powerful male dancers with a few superhero moves of their own, ‘TeZukA’ captures the manga spirit beautifully.
For info, see Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui: TeZukA listing.
