Charles Matton recreates mini studios in ‘Enclosures’ exhibition
In ‘Enclosures’, now open (to October 7) at All Visual Arts in Kings Cross, French artist Charles Matton creates meticulous miniature versions of interiors of the studios of Francis Bacon, Rembrandt, Hopper and Giacometti, as well as Baudrillards’s library and Freud’s study. The atmospheric boxes are painstakingly handmade with intricate details in miniature, including light sockets, furniture and fading wallpaper.
