A concert is being held tomorrow (7.30pm) in aid of a renowned figure of the London flute scene to help rebuild her life after last month’s devastating riots. Carla Rees’ Croydon home was burnt to the ground with her 10 flutes (several of which were custom-made) and over 600 pieces of music, many of which were the foundation of her music company Rarescale. In addition, her 2 cats perished in the fire. The concert showcases wind music from performers including The Tempest Flute Trio, Mahan Esfehani, Gregory Rose, Rosie Cox and Noah Mosley as well as from Carla’s own company. Tickets are available on the door.
‘Help Carla’ Gala is at St. Marylebone Parish Church, Marylebone Road, NW1 5LT. For info about Carla Rees, see altoflute.co.uk.
