Ever heard the expression ‘hyper-local’? You have now. It’s used to describe produce that originates from your immediate neighbourhood. This Sunday (10am-2pm), London Fields Farmers’ Market hosts a Harvest Festival offering food that has never left Hackney, from fruit and veg to honey and pickles, much of which has been grown or made by local community food projects. In addition are traditional harvest festival activities (live music, hot snacks, a harvest hamper raffle, scarecrow-making workshop) and the Garden Hero competition, which recognises those making an extra effort to help their community growing spaces.
London Fields Farmers’ Market Harvest Festival is at London Fields, E8 3PE.
