Get lost in the stylish subversion of postmodernism at V&A
Following on from V&A’s shows on art deco, modernism and the Cold War era, the next chapter in the museum’s historical round-up is postmodernism of the 1970s and ’80s as seen through the mediums of architecture, design, music, clubbing and commodity. The exhibiton, which opens today (to January 8 2012), features works by Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass and the Memphis Group, graphic designers Peter Saville (creator of Joy Division and New Order’s record sleeves) and Neville Brody (art director on The Face and Arena magazines), artists Jeff Koons and Jenny Holzer and many, many more.
For info, see Postmodernism: Style and Suberversion 1970-1990 listing.
