London 2012: RSC Artistic Director Michael Boyd thinks on theatre

In the run up to London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, we speak to legendary artistic director of world-famous Royal Shakespeare Company about London, his passion for creative theatre and prioritising the child within. The Belfast born director is a pioneering force in contemporary portrayals of Shakespearian theatre, creatively encouraging the historic works to stand the test of time with popular and engaging adaptations appearing frequently across Britain with many, many more plans to entertain the crowds in 2012. When asked what gets him out of bed in the morning, Boyd simply stated ‘stalking the beast of a new show in the rehearsal room.’
