Posted at 2:00 pm, September 26, 2011 in Music & Nightlife

Get into the swing of things with Time Out’s round up of London’s best lindy hop haunts for shy beginners or seasoned toe-tappers. Start out at Swing Den at The William Blake, perfect for novices and led by an ensemble of enthusiastic Aussies. The Black Cotton Club is a trés chic night at Volupté with a fab soundtrack and some fast-footed folk. Balham’s Bedford plays host to C-Jam on a Tuesday evening, offering a class before the social dancing, with the occasional band. Simon Selmon’s London Swing Dance Society has been teaching the art of swing since 1986 and currently runs Wild Times at Wild Hall. Hit The Book Club Blues on Curtain Road for louche and laidback bluesy moves or jump to boogie woogie at the monthly Gangbusters night at the Lexington, where retro dress is encouraged. And finally, Corbet Place’s weekly Swing Pit starts with a beginners’ class and Saturday Night Swing Club at City Firefly Bar has 3 floors of swinging fun.
