Venn Street, Hildreth Street, Balham: major new food markets open in SW London this weekend

Posted at 1:00 pm, September 29, 2011 in Food & Drink

Over the summer, Venn Street’s stallholders moved to Balham’s Hildreth Street, but now they’re back in Clapham every Saturday (10am-4pm) from this week, with stalls including Jacobs Ladder Farm (organic and biodynamic meats, eggs, oats), Wild Country Organics and Yam the Cassava’s hot Creole cuisine. Hildreth Street Market stays put and goes monthly on Sundays (11am-4pm), featuring fresh bread from Flour Station, French pastries from Comptoir Gourmand, rare breed meats from Garlic Wood Farm and more. In addition, Balham has the new, weekly Balham Farmers’ Market every Saturday (9am-2pm).
