The Eat Film series is part of London Restaurant Festival – which opens across London today (to October 17) – and celebrates the best of food-related films with some actual eating. This year, Bill Granger introduces Taiwanese movie classic, ‘Eat Drink Man Woman’, which is followed by a pan-Asian menu of pulled chicken salad, steamed fish on vermicelli noodles, and roasted chilli pineapple with pomegranate and coconut ice cream. For Laura Santtini’s choice of ‘Waitress’, the meal culminates in a chocolate ‘moon pie’ as a nod to the pie-making competition featured in the film. Finally, food writer Lucas Hollweg presents ‘Chocolat’ (above), which is paired with a rural French menu featuring smoked bacon and ham ballotine, pot-roast guinea fowl and a rich chocolate torte.
