Afternoon teas in London: Time Out rounds up the best

Posted at 12:00 pm, October 10, 2011 in Food & Drink

There are times where we at Time Out ask ourselves those all-important life questions: milk in first, or last? Should the face of a scone first see a layer of jam, or is clotted cream a better base? Are mini baguettes and tartines a suitable substitution for a good ol’ fashioned crustless finger sarnie? Our food and drink team pondered all these and more as they explored the capital’s tea rooms and cafés to unearth the best afternoon teas; highlights included the warm green tea scones at The Modern Pantry and dainty pastries by the Corinthia Hotel’s cake guru Clair Clarke.  Grouped into three price brackets (budget, treat yourself and those for a special occasion), it’s easy to find your perfect place for a cup of tea and a sit-down. Let us know if we’ve missed our your favourite tea haven.

For info, see London’s best afternoon teas.
