It’s all in the stars, they say. Well, it will be on Tuesday October 11 at Café Oto – or rather, in the planets. As part of the annual Galvanised! Festival – dedicated to experimental sounds and visuals, and now in its 5th year – 5 acts perform in ‘Music vs The Universe’, which aims to explore such cosmic matters as the ‘true’ nature of music and its abstractness in our universe. De-composer Alexander Tucker – who produces wyrd folk with a mix of avant electronica, loops and drones – is joined by Standard Planets, Astral Social Club, Temperatures and Jo Thomas, each adopting the character of 1 of the 5 pre-telescopic (or Chaldean) planets. They might not answer the burning question ‘is there life on Mars?’ but they can guarantee a suitably trippy soundtrack for contemplation.
