the thinking drinker's guide to alcoholElbow-benders with a funny bone might want to bag themselves a spot at this 1-night-only show (October 12, 10.30pm) at The Arts Theatre for imbibers who are curious about alcohol. Created by former Time Out bars and pubs writer Ben McFarland and his chum, award-winning drinks writer Tom Sandham (the pair also run dwink.com), ‘The Thinking Drinker’s Guide to Alcohol’ cleverly offers the audience tastings of 6 ‘super-premium’ spirits while McFarland and Sandham wax lyrical about alcohol’s wide-reaching influence in life, love, literature, learning and… dinosaurs. As they say, the answers to much of life’s biggest questions may be found ‘at the bottom of a glass’. It’s bottoms down for this one.
