London 2012: meet Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, designers of the Olympic torch

Posted at 7:00 am, October 16, 2011 in Arts & Entertainment

In the run up to London 2012, we meet some of the people who are working hard to make the games happen. London-based designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby founded their studio in 1996 after having both graduated from The Royal College of Art with an MA in Architecture and in 2001 they also founded Universal Design Studios, now deemed as one of the most original creative design consultancies in architecture, exhibition and interior design. The talented duo beat 500 rivals to design the new, hi-tech aluminium Olympic torch for London 2012 and we spoke to them about their influences, ideas, obstacles and inspirations.
