Prepare to be edu-tained by Trashing Performance

Trashing Performance at Tate Modern, Toynbee Studios & Bethnal Green Working Men's ClubSome of this biggest names in performance art are coming together over the next five days (October 25-30) for Trashing Performance, which will thrash out the notion of trash in contemporary culture, on and off stage. The roster reads like a who’s who of burlesque, drag and cabaret: Dickie Beau, Figs in Wigs, Carmelita Tropicana, Jonny Woo, Duckie and Shunt will all be in attendance, along with Time Out’s own Cabaret editor Ben Walters. A provocative line up of shows, talks, films and workshops will be hosted across three venues: Tate Modern, Toynbee Studios and Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club. As Rizzo said ‘Though the neighbourhood thinks I’m trashy and no good… there are worse things I could do.’  You could do a lot worse than sampling some outrageous edu-tainment, in only the finest bad taste.
