Wagner’s ‘Ring Cycle’ spins in to Royal Opera House

Wagner's Ring CyclePolish up your Tarnhelm, Wagner’s mighty 4-opera masterpiece, ‘Der Ring des Nibelungen’, is coming to the Royal Opera House (for 4 complete cycles of ‘Das Rheingold’, ‘Die Walküre’, ‘Siegfried’ and ‘Götterdämmerung’) next year (September 24-November 2 2012). Keith Warner’s production boasts a starry cast that includes Bryn Terfel as Wotan (below), Susan Bullock as Brünnhilde, and Gerhard Siegel as Siegfried, with Antonio Pappano conducting. At over 17 hours, this is opera at its most epic. Booking opens this morning at 10am and you can only book 2 tickets per person for 1 cycle, so choose wisely.
