Fortnum & Mason’s Halloween Pumpkin Carving Competition

Posted at 10:00 am, October 26, 2011 in Food & Drink

If you count the ability to transform an innocent orange vegetable into a heart-wrenchingly-scary, holiday-themed decoration as one of your secret talents, then you need to head to Fortnum & Mason’s Halloween Pumpkin Carving Competition on Friday 28 Ocober. The annual contest is split into two categories, ‘Fiendish or Funny?’ (under 11 year olds) and ‘Traditional or Cutting Edge?’ (11+)  and the Golden Pumpkin Prize winner will be awarded a unique broomstick decorated with a plaque – the ultimate prize for any fashionable witch or wizard – plus a £1000 Hamper full of F&M goodies and your carving skills displayed proudly in the store’s window. There will also be a host of spooky treats on offer, including Halloween biscuits and cocktails, witches’ beard (candy floss), a toffee apple demonstration and a chilli pepper tasting. Infamous jelly mongers Bompas and Parr will also be on hand to show off their skills. Free but booking essential.

To enter, call 0845 602 5694. For info, see Fortnum & Mason’s Pumpkin Carving Competition listing.
