Rainforest rescue remedy at Somerset House
Time Out’s weekly Hot List is now live and features plenty of must-see events. Our tip of the week: the Amazon photography exhibition at Somerset House, opening Wednesday 2 November. The utopian ideal of untouched landscapes meets the ravages of deforestation, in an encounter between the work of photographers Sebastião Salgado and Per-Anders Petterrson. Both are working in support of the Sky Rainforest Rescue operation, a three year initiative through which WWF aims to save one billion trees in Brazil. Running until 4 December, the exhibition is also the first chance for the public to have a gander at the culture institution’s shiny new East Wing Galleries. Budding photographers can also enter pics of their ‘own amazon‘ for a chance to win a new digital SLR camera.
