The Art of Dining is a collaborative effort between chef Ellen Parr (who previously worked at Moro and currently cooks at Rochelle Canteen) and set designer/artist Alice Hodge to bring together unusual pop-up eating experiences in London. The theme for their second event is ‘rations’ (November 3-5 Nov); diners will be immersed in a space transformed with wartime-inspired relics, while the menu draws its inspiration from WWII-era food. You can expect the likes of (gourmet) spam, or peppermint creams. For pudding, there will be brown bread ice-cream – very in-vogue, after it was revived by Heston Blumenthal at his Knightsbridge restaurant. Despite the wartime theme, with six courses, cocktails and a complimentary cheese course, the portions are far from rationed.
