London Jazz Festival 2011 comes to town
From vocal divas, big bands, bebop and break beats to funk, free jazz and thrash metal tubas, the London Jazz Festival has it all as a staggering 280 gigs take place between Friday 11 and Sunday 20 November across the capital in over 50 venues. There’s an overwhelming amount of music to choose from – be it jazz giants like Ornette Coleman (above) and McCoy Tyner to young upstarts like Beats and Pieces Big Band, Kairos 4tet (below) or singer Emilia Martensson – there’s also a buzzing club programme and plenty of free entry gigs too at the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Barbican.
