Going Underground: Take a tour of disused Aldwych station
Calling all London tube enthusiasts, Christmas has come early as the London Transport Museum are giving you a rare chance to take a looksie around the disused Aldwych Underground station on November 25/26/27 and December 2/3/4 (hour slots throughout the day). The inactive station (originally named Strand) has a unique history, having been a WW2 public air raid shelter (below), now used as the setting for films such as ‘Atonement’ and ‘V for Vendetta’ and is rarely open to the public. Tickets are still available for November 25 and December 2 so book now.
