101 things to do in London: jive talk at the Rivoli

Posted at 7:00 am, November 19, 2011 in Music & Nightlife

The Time Out team has compiled a list of the 101 ultimate things to do in London; each week we highlight one as inspiration for your weekend fun. This week, it’s the third Saturday of the month, and you know what that means…It’s the cult favourite ‘Jive Party’ at the jewel in south east London’s pearly queen crown, the Rivoli Ballroom. Lovingly restored to all its former glory as London’s only fully intact 1950s ballroom, jive bunnies can do their thing beneath exquisite Chinese lanterns and atop a pro-worthy sprung floor. On Saturday 19 November, swing your partners to the big band sound of King Groovy and the Horn Stars – all 17 of them, in fact. Have yourself a toe-tapping, jitter-bugging, lindy-hopping ball.
