Our American friends in London – the tens of thousands who aren’t already plotting their own home-cooked feast, that is – needn’t miss out on Thanksgiving on November 24, despite being across the pond. Thanksgiving is the biggest culinary event of the year in the US, and unlike other festivals – July 4th, or even Christmas – is devoted primarily to feasting. We’ve rounded up some of the best Thanksgiving meals being held at restaurants around the capital, for those who want their turkey fix, some decent cornbread, or perhaps an old-fashioned cobbler to end. Venues such as the Savoy Grill will be laying out a spread including Maryland crabcakes and maple-roast turkey, while the barbecue restaurant chain Bodean’s will be having big-screen sports action all day to go with a £20.95 set menu. Americans eating at home who are too busy to cook (working on Thanksgiving Day? You must have gone native) can alternatively pre-order from Melrose & Morgan’s delis in Primrose Hill or Hampstead by 5pm on November 20, where they can pick up the full works to takeaway. Looks like there’s a lot to be thankful for.
