Top of the festive shops: 5 of the best Christmas shopping nights

Posted at 1:30 pm, November 30, 2011 in Shopping & Style

With all the shopping blog posts we have been doing lately, there really is no excuse this year for that last minute Christmas Eve dash. Every shopping hub in the capital seems to be trying to get in on the festive action so we have picked out five evening events for your browsing pleasure.

Covent Garden, 1 December 6-9pm
St Martin’s Courtyard and Seven Dials are holding a discounted late night shopping event, with 20% off at participating stores including vintage, designer, high street and independent boutiques. But it’s not just a ‘shop till you drop’ evening, to get you in the festive money-splashing mood, there will be DJs, music and giveaways, plus a free drink from St Martin’s Courtyard’s pop up bar with your 20% off voucher.

Columbia Road, 30 November – 21 December, every wednesday 5-9pm
For an east end alternative to the west end hustle and bustle, Columbia Road’s quirky boutiques will be offering discounts and festive fun on the trendy cobbled streets.

Bermondsey Street, 1 December 6-9pm
Go south to fill your  boots (and Christmas stockings) at Bermondsey Street’s stores discounted goodies. There will also be stalls offering mulled wine and festive decorations to keep your shopping strength up.

Canary Wharf, 1 December 5 -9pm
For all you Dockland workers, Canary Wharf is on hand to help you bag that office party dress, with fashion shows, discounts in stores and goodie bags for the first enthusiastic shoppers.

Notting Hill, 8 December 6pm-late
Head west for a night of Notting Hill community spirit and festive cheer with carol singers, mulled wine and various shop offers.

If you cant make any of these dates, get yourself down to Oxford Street on Saturday 10 December where they will be stopping the traffic to make room for those extra shopping bags. Be warned though, this could be Christmas carnage.
