Matthew Williamson © Neil GavinDon’t let Christmas shopping squeeze the fun out of the festive season. When our Shopping team recently compiled a list of the 100 best shops in London they quizzed experts from designers and fashion editors to bloggers and artists on the capital’s retail hotspots. We ask designer Matthew Williamson, founder of the eponymous label beloved of boho-types such as Sienna Miller, for a little inspiration on where to buy the perfect gift for the discerning and style conscious gent.

1. LN-CC,
18-24 Shacklewell Lane, E8 2EZ
‘A great concept store designed by set designer Gary Card. I love the interesting mix of Japanese and British brands with quirky installation pieces.’

2. Tann Rokka
, 123 Regents Park Road, NW1 8BE
‘This is one of my regular interior-design haunts. My favourite electric blue suede sofa was bespoke-made for me here.’

3. Thom Sweeney
, 1-2 Weighhouse Street, W1K 5LR
‘I always wear Thom Sweeney suits for events and special occasions – they are tailored to the perfect shape for my frame and come in a vast selection of luxurious fabrics. My current favourites are a pale-blue seersucker suit for the summer and a chocolate-brown velvet one for the winter.’

4. Geo F Trumper
, Curzon Street, W1J 5HQ
‘Not only does Trumper stock a fantastic range of gentleman’s grooming products, it also offers traditional wet shaves in the privacy of chic, mahogany-walled cubicles.’

5. Natural Kitchen
, 77-78 Marylebone High Street, W1U 5JX
‘The Natural Kitchen encompasses a delicatessen stocking a wide variety of organic and locally sourced produce, and a great cafe, where I can get a ‘Londoner”‘sausage sandwich for breakfast.’
