For those of you in search of a bit of spirituality this Hanukkah, why not head over to Bevis Marks Synagogue for your yearly fix? Located on the boarder between central and east London, this awe-inspiring building will definitely not fail to impress you with its beautifully simplistic architecture and wealth of history, retaining its heritage as a monument of national importance. They will be having their Hanukkah service on Tuesday December 27 but if you can’t make that then pay it a visit anyway – it’s open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 10.30am-2pm; Tuesday and Friday 10.30am-1pm; Sunday 10.30am-12.30pm. It’s a mere £4 for adults and includes a tour on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays – and all the money goes towards the cost of maintaining the building. The Bevis Marks Restaurant (above) is also adjacent incase you want to stop for some nosh.
