Hooray for free travel in London on New Year’s Eve

London Underground © Rob Greig It’s always nice to get something for free, especially when money could be better spent on an extra tipple or two. Between 11.45pm New Year’s Eve and 4.30am New Year’s Day travelling by bus, tram or tube will be completely free. Overground services will also be free from 11.45pm until the last trains. On top of that – tube, DLR, trams and selected National Rail services in Greater London will be running all night. Night and 24-hour bus routes will be running as normal, but there will be a reduced service leaving central London from around 5pm to 3am on New Year’s Day due to planned road closures. Safe and happy travels.
