Papaya ThaiSince Tired of London, Tired of Life author Tom Jones treated you to 6 secret London spots this week, we decided to keep up the January bonus. Sammy Sousa of the entertainment blog Informed London has picked out 6 great places to while away the hours in between everyday London duties such as fixing inverted umbrellas, dodging tourists and tutting about TfL.

Bar Story - 213 Blenheim Grove, SE15 4QL
A cool place to get away for the madness while still having that air of the urban as trains rumble past while you sip your drink.

Papaya - 14 St Annes Court, Soho, W1F 0BD
This little outlet (above) sells good food for a great price. I love to sit on their bench and watch the wide variety of Soho folk walking past as they get on with their day.

The Secret Garden
The ideal quirky little pub with an escapist garden in the back. Great place to chill with a shisha or with a pint, the choice is yours.

Hootananny Brixton
Excellent live music venue; go there on a random night and you’re bound to love one of the acts, even if you’ve never heard of any of them.

Centerprise Book Shop & Cafe – 136 Kingsland High Street, E8 2NS
I love the West Indian menu in here. Pocket-friendly prices and generous portions make it well worth a visit.

The Lexi Cinema
This cosy, intimate cinema gives all of its profits to charity, so I feel good paying for my entry. Ashleigh Arnott
