Friday 13, a date which cinema programmers find it very hard to resist. So dig through the cupboard for that old hockey mask, rifle through the dress-up box for that plastic knife and head down to the Prince Charles for a marathon viewing of the first four parts in the ‘Friday 13th’ saga, the perennially popular slasher series about stab-happy Jason Voorhees and his sex-crazed, shrieking victims. No one’s about to argue that the films are particularly great (though Part 1 certainly has its moments). But they sure are entertaining, particularly on the big screen with a roaring crowd of like-minded horrorheads. Slice and dice! Tom Huddleston
